Default replacing brakes, what bolt to remove?

I am trying to replace the rear brakes on my 97 c5.
What bolts do I remove?
I uploaded a image for reference, do I remove the 2 bolts that are marked by the number 1 or do i remove the 2 bolts that are marked by the number 2?

any help would be appreciated!

If you are just swapping the pads it is bolt #2 in your picture. That bolt is actually 2 pieces, you will need a wrench for the bolt head and a second wrench to hold the flats sides (under the rubber) of the bolt base. When you look at it you will see what i'm trying to tell you.

Every bolt you can find, take them all out. J/J just take out #2. Andy

For just a pad change, bolt #2...just the top one. The caliper will swing down using the bottom bolt as a hinge...slide the old pads out, and the new pads in.

If you are changing rotors, you'll need to remove both #1 bolts (top and bottom) to get the caliper and bracket complately free and out of the way. You can leave the hose attached to the caliper, but don't let the caliper just hang by it...rest the caliper on the susp. arm or something to support it.

If your changing the calipers my want to consider putting on stainless steel brake lines, since the brakes are apart now.

Good luck
