Default Problems with 02 C5

Hiya there, I posted a couple of weeks ago about wanting to purchase a new to me C5, well i did! Anyways, Im having a couple of minor issues that i dont know if they are real problems or not. First off, when I have the a/c on, the blower speed slows down for just a second, then picks back up, is this a warranty issue or part of the automatic operation? Also, when i hit the fan speed up button, the fan speed barely increases, but when i hit the Auto button, the fan comes on full blast, is this normal operation? And finally, my driver seat belt squeaks when i move it in and out, is this a common problem, and does warranty cover it? Thanks for any input for my new driver!

Chris

There have been lots of issues with the Automatic Climate Control Functions and the control module is EXPENSIVE! If it is not working correctly and you have a warranty, GET IT FIXED!

The seat? Is it a squeak/squeel or is it a whoopie Cushion noise??

The leather on the sides of the seat can rub against the plastic and on the carpet and make some WEIRD noises. Some times it even vibrates your BUTT when the seat is moved!! That can be fixed by adding some leather dressing to the sides of the seat but will return when the dresing wears off. If the track mechansem is making noise, that is NOT normal and should be repaired also

I'm not sure about you HVAC unit but, if it's acting funny I would take it in to at least have it looked at and if it turns out to be ok then at least you have a documented visit if it decides to really go South later on down the road.
My seat belt did the same thing. What I did was pull the plastic loose around both the upper and lower retractors. Then I pulled the belt all the way out. With the belt all the way out, I then sprayed silicone lube on both ends of the retractor. Then pulled the belt in and out a few times and the squeak went away. I had to spray a couple tiimes in order to get enough silicone to saturate the pivot point. But, its been probably 8 months and it hasn't come back.
Congrats on the new car.

Dont' forget to wave!!!!!!!!

Default A/c

If you're talking about the A/C starting slow and the picking up when it first turns on, I read that the Corvette A/C is actually "smart" where it will keep the fan low so that if you keep your windows open for just a minute, the hot air can escape--then it will get the fans going fast.
