Hey guys got a question? I have tried seaching but came up with nothing but here goes. How hard is it and what do I need to do to change the backup light switch? I am having the problem with no backup lights and I need to get my car inspected ASAP! I checked the bulbs and also the fuses and dont think the problem is with them. Thanks in advance for your help!!
If you have an MN6 the bad back up switch is a prettu common failure! I had to do the one in my 98 once! It is easy and requires nothing more than a common metric wrench! Jack the rear of the car up (JACK STANDS ARE A MUST) or get it up on a lift! the switch is on the passengers side, unplug the wiring harness, unscrew the switch and screw in the new one! I plugged mine and depressed the ball actuator to make sure that the new switch was good! Tested SAT!!
Can you get the switch at any parts store or dealership only?

I had to get mine at the dealer because it failed right after the warrenty and not a lot of autoparts stores carried C5 parts! C5's have been around a while and you might want to give the auto parts stores a try!
I got one today at Autozone for about $10. A 7/8" SAE deep socket fits it perfectly.
