Default Added H/C Pkg. plus TC - WOW!

Took the next step this past weekend. Added a Head and Cam pkg plus a Yank/LPE 2800 Torque Converter. Dyno'ed 394RWHP and 360RWTQ. Talk about a SOP kick! I was really impressed with the flat torque curve. 90% of maximum from 3200RPM to 6500RPM! - Lots of power. Cam is a 224 .581 114 and has a minimal lope at idle. Heads are LPE's Stage II and must flow pretty well. Great street manors, but I'll need a little time to get use to the new feel of the TC. The factory 3.15 gears and A4 tranny are definetly going to be tested. Plan on a trip to the track this weekend to see how she does. I think I'll be over my Drag Radials bogging me down at launch now.

Update: Help!
Went to the track with anemic results. Best time 13.004 @ 108mph w/ 2.0x 60 ft.. Either no tire spin or way too much even with Drag radials. I think I need some help/practice. Any suggestons? I know 3.42 or 3.73 gears would be really helpful with the 2800 TC but even with my 3.15 gears and 394 RWHP I was expecting 12.5 -12.7 @ 112+ mph. What kind of times should I be expecting?

I have one but I don't have easy access to a scanner and even if I did I haven't taken the time to learn to post it on this forum.
I know, tough dealing with the under capitalized and illiterates.

Yeah - 21st Century Muscle Car out of Dallas ,TX did the install and tune. Excellent work and a lot of attention to detail - Thanks Andy! They have a great shop and a great group of people. John Page's guys did a good job getting me taken care of. Worth the 250 mile drive to have a quality shop work on your baby. I would recommend this shop to anyone.

my a4 w/ss3200 yank,3.42 gears dynos at 315 rwhp/322 tq. 1/4 mile times are 12.69 to 12.89, 108.7 mph 1.90 60' on zo6 tires.outside temp.75f @sea level. i just hold the brake ,bring the rpm's up to 2200 and wot on last yellow.i get lots of wheel spin in 1st and a little in 2nd.your mph seems a little low for 395 rwhp? maybe you have some codes.?my dic doesn't show some codes (like 02 sensors ) .i read them with my predator, diagnose and get the problem fixed.good luck.

Congrats on making the H/C mod with the great bunch over at 21st!
Yeah...3:73's would help you....if you do an internal upgrade again, go with a larger cam(I think the 228/.588/114 would be a minmum, if your goals are straight line performance, IMHO).
Need to get a higher stall someday, and finally work on that 60'. No reason to do 2.0's anymore with that setup and DR's, IMO.

Good luck working on your numbers!!!

make sure you do a good burnout, you have to heat them tires up really good. your numbers should be a lot lower IMO. I was running 12.60's when I dynoed at 306hp and 342tq. That was with 3.73's and sy 3500 converter. Gears, and I hate to say it but a taller converter are probably what you need most, next to more seat time. Good luck and keep us posted.

Do you have a linelock? If not, get one...You need to warm up the tires before you launch...when you wait at the light tree keep your left foot on your brake and rev your engine to around 1500 rpm with your right foot...last yellow, punch your gas and release your left foot on the brake at the same time...this is my technique and it works every time...see your computer will think you are driving because you are reving your engine alittle and the car won't bog, it will just take off!! With just a 3200 stall and r/flats I achieved a consistent 12.8 at 107 and a 1.8 60 ft. I recently installed tpis headers and I now, with drags have gotten the car into the mid to low 12's...damn, if I put a h/c and 373's in I will be hitting mid to low 11's!! maybe high 10's!! Just practice...with your car, I would get at least low 12's with your setup....you should be getting at least a 1.7 60...Good luck

My coupe dynos 395 rwhp & 393 rwt and I trap 116 & 117 mph regardless. Your mph is off abit for the h.p. level you are at. Your key to low e.t.'s are a good launch with low 60 ft's. Get some e.t. sreets......they work.

Thanks for the help!
Line Lock - Don't have one but I think that is a good suggestion.
No Codes except the darn Fuel gage going to empty feature w/ Check Gages Light. Working on my second bottle of tecchron.
Couple more bits of info. Track conditions were 2500 Ft. - not the best for times. I attempted launching by hold the brake and reving to around 1500 RPM and WOT. Real inconsistent results, sometimes lots of tire spin and others almost none. Must be my burn outs. But 60ft times were all 2.0x. I obviously do not have a handle on this yet. Also launched from idle once to 'Shock to TC' and got a fair bit of tire spin but about the same 60 ft. time.
FYI- Last evening I launched on an empty street with my run flats and my Gtech measured my 60 ft at 1.87sec and a 0-60 mph @ 4.752 sec. -now what is that all about? Maybe I'll take my run flats to the track.
I'll keep trying.
Thanks!
