The LS1 rods are a cap screw type bolt, there is no pressing, hence my pondering of why arp says to resize.
Katech agrees with you also. I just ordered a set of Katech bolts because I am doing this job also. I am using a chain hoist and an I-beam connected to two under-lift stands. I just have to take out the power steering, spring, and crossmember while supporting from above. I have a nice 2 post lift, but I'll put that up as high as I can to give me enough lift with the under-lift stands. I think I'll take pics of the whole rod-bolt exchange and post a how-to.
I changed mine this winter
Give Katech a call for the bolts no re-sizing necessary.
I pulled the engine on my 2000 c5
Yes ARP says to re-size the rods If you're going to do this you will have to do a complete re-build
Just for the heck of it, does anybody have a write-up on what's involved to pull the engine? I've got tools and an engine hoist...pulled a few engines in my day, but never on a C5. Just wondering if it might be easier/faster than working on everything in the car.
