Default ECS...Pimp My Ride!!!

Well mod fever took a big chuck out of my butt this time. In goes the G5x3 cam and AFR Heads. Hopefully the boys will chime in and give you guys the specs, my Vette should be ready early next week and I'm sure they will post the results.

Great pics. Let us know the low and mid range torque #'s when done. Also, please post dyno's when done. I want the EXACT same setup. Congrats.

What a bunch of "posers" in that first picture, especially that guy Marc.

On a serious note, I saw your car there last Friday, Barry, getting ready to go in the bay. I also spotted those heads. They were still in the box, sitting in the corner by the door entrance. I was very tempted to hijack them, but I resisted. I guess I'll just wait my turn.

G5X-3 cam + AFR heads are going to be a sick combo. Don't forget to post a dyno!

Mark,

The fellow on the left is a "newbie" to the ECS fold...sorry, but Doug told me his name and I forgot (hey, it's not Alzheimer's yet ). That is Marc on the right, and he is as dependable a wrenchperson as you'll find. In fact, the day I was there he was doing headers and a G5X3 cam install on another C5.

I take it Chris and Doug were out test-driving cars when this photo was taken? .

That combo will be great.
Did you have to flycut the pistons with the AFR heads? What will your final CR be?

BTW that is one hell of a torque wrench.

I was there today when the 1st head went on, Marc told Chris that the piston did not hit the valve so they don't have to worry about flycutting the piston. Chris came over and also checked the clearance and said things were ok. Team ECS will have to chime in to answer the technical questions I just write the checks.

The guys at ECS rock. They did my LPE header install and G5X-3 install. Now I'm thinking it may be time for a set of AFRs.

Here are my mods so when the results are posted, those that are interested know what to measure it against.

Blackwing
TPIS LT headers/Random Tech high flow cats and xpipe
Corsa Touring catback
LS1 edit
dyno'd 338 max power...347.1 max torque before Chris bumped the timing a few degrees to squeeze another 2-3hp out of it! It was dyno'd before the 4.10's......the 3.42's were in at that time

The new guy in John, he is a new wrench from down the street. Nice fella, John was working on putting my car back together today.

Thanks John - tell Chris and Doug to get you an ECS shirt

Don't forget to bolt up a blueprinted HP oilpump while you are this deep into the engine ... It's a snap now and worth every penny ...

I'm doing just a cam for now, but you have me drooling over those AFR heads now.

What's up with the tail lights? Just to be different? Did you and a buddy go in on two sets of amber and clear tail lights? I've seen the C5-R at LeMans use just one Euro tail light and one US spec light, but never a clear and amber Euro tail light before.
