Looking for recommendations on where to buy and have them installed in the Western Suburbs of Chicago I currently have a '04 Auto w/2.73. Also do I need to get a Torque Converter or is the stock converter good enough? Anything else I should be looking at with this upgrade?

Crashed 94, Rodney of Transmission Specialists is in Indiana which shouldn't be too far away. Give him a call.
The torque converter is a good choice and icing on the cake. May as well do it while everything is down as opposed to paying for labor twice. My recommendation is if you are going to do the gears, then do the TC too.
The aftermarket torque converter can be "mild" or wild. And when I say "mild" I mean relative to some of these higher, 3600 and up, stall converters available today, yet "mild" is still significantly more aggressive than the stock converter.
Try Finish Line Performance - Naperville. They have a national reputation for AT work and tuning...including supercharger installs. They do gears also. They are good people to deal with.
