I have the column lock bypass installed and have owned the car for 4.5 years and have never had the problem. Should I do the recall? What is everyone else doing? Will the dealer even do it with the bypass installed? Will they give me a hard time?
There are a bunch of threads on here about this,,,I would recommend doing a search and you'll find tons of info. If you have a 6 speed and have the bypass,,, I would not do the recall....depending on your dealer they may give you hassle about it...some guys did the recall after installing the bypass and then picked their car up only to find the bypass kit laying on the front seat or in the glove box....
Had mine done before installing the CLB or reprogramming the PCM. Remember, if you have a tune on the PCM, it will be lost with this recall. They are flashing the PCM as part of the recall.
