Drove about 15 miles this morning with no issues. I parked for about an hour and when I returned to the car the check engine light came on when started. Car is running just fine and when I checked the codes I only got 2 history codes: 10-PCM P0332H & 58-SDM B1001H. Please tell me how to clear the light. Thanks.
I remember the Vette Docs once gave me a series of buttons to press in order to clear the check engine light I just can't remember what they were.
The check engine light is part of the emissions loop. Codes are displayed when one of the emissions modules is bad or malfunctioning.. these codes can not be cancelled unless the emisssions module is fixed or the malfunction corrected... the people above are trying to show you how to display trouble codes... and clear trouble codes...as oppose to cancelling the "check engine light" the emissions loop is all about emissions.. I think there are 7 emissions modules.. some are very expensive... 500 dollars.// few after market warrantys or GMPP will cover these emissions modules.. although my warranty direct does... this is not a warranty direct commerical.. there is a federal warranty on these modules which exceeds the standard 3 yrs 36000 mile warranty..
How long for the system to reset once the battery is disconnected? Also I was told that bad gas, which may trigger a knock sensor, can cause the light to go on. In my history codes there is a knock sensor message so I tend to believe that it was my latest fillup. Does it correct itself or does it have to be manually cleared? Thanks.
