Guys...

Let me try to clear this.....

NEW FOB, you do "re-learn or re-train" via the DIC....

Change battery you do the "re-sync".... it even says inside the FOB, "replace battery, do re-sync"... (Just hold down the lock & unlock until horn beeps...)

If you change the car battery you will need to relearn all of the FOBs! You can re-sync all day and it wont respond!

Thats why many of us have FOB issues. When your car sits for an extended period of time and the battery looses a lot of it's charge OR when you have an OLD car battery, a lot of C5 owners keep loosing sync or their fobs quit working for no apparent reason. The Trensmitter/Receiver resets it self if sees less than 9 VDC. Been there, done that!

To secure the alarm, you will need to insert the key in the ignition and turn the switch to on.
Shut the doors and lock the door with the key in the door key lock. Try to open the door from the inside again. It should alarm.

Arm the alarm again and reach in and pop the rear hatch using the switch on the dash. Alarm should sound.

Please let us know how you make out.
