What would the results be of taking z06 H/c and putting them on a c-5 vert?

Better stuff out there if you're going to do it.

If your on a tight budget take the heads, and get a custom grind cam.

FWIW I picked up 50 RWHP with a cam only setup. I dont know if you would get that much just installing z06 heads AND cam.

It would be a waste of time, too much effort for so little hp.... If your gonna do the work, you should go for more.

If you want to do it for less... have the heads ported at a local shop and get the cam of your choice. Remember to get up graded valve springs... the stock one barely cut it.

:o I don't know the specs :o

I am expecting an e-mail this evening. I told them I wanted a MILD/Mod cam, with only a mild lope, and little to no car shake at idle.

I assume that Heads will follow as the budget allows, and after I get bored with this extra power. He (the dealer) said that after I put Heads on I can expect 430 RWHP.

I have no doubt the componets I listed are quality, but am curious if the price is in line, and if the performance will be a good value for the $ spent. Is an extra 50 ponies an amount that is "felt"?

Who is going to do the work? All my stuff came from Texas speed and performance and thunder racing. East coast supercharging did the install and tune. If you have some time tomorrow call texas speed, they are real personable and can give you a good idea of what your looking for as far as performance goals and drivability. Good pricing too!
I had their TSP 231/237 cam installed about 3 weeks ago, and ECS nailed the tune. You can tell there is a cam in their, but It doesn't shake bad at all in my opinion and idles fine.

DTE out of Ft Wayne Indiana. I want the work to be done by who ever I buy the parts from. That way I don't have to worry about a situation, where something doesn't work, and the tech blames the parts that were bought elsewhere. I am curious what ALL your set up is, and what the dyno results were.

Do the cost figures I posted, seem to be inline?

I bought the TSP 231/237 cam only package from Texas speed. Came with retainers, springs, pushrods, etc. Got little stuff like crank bolt and gaskets from thunder racing.

ECS installed the cam, Ls6 intake, 160 t-stat, timing chain, ported my throttle body, plugs and wires, put on a vortex rammer, underdrive pulley, and did the tune. Came out with 354 RWHP and 370RWTQ. Before this I dynoed at 306 RWHP and 33? RWTQ. This is on an A4 with 3500 converter and 3.73's. I had LT headers, xpipe, no cats, and corsas the whole time

As far as the price goes I really couldn't say because I bought the cam package back in December when it was on sale, And picked up other stuff slowly throughout the year when I had extra cash.

Let me know the specs of the cam when you find out. Im guessing its gonna be like 224 or 228 on a 114 LSA.

Yes I felt the 50 ponies, also the car shifts at 6200 now!

Get your heads ported. Don't aspire to be as fast as a stock Z06, because the same amount of money will get you quite a bit faster. Look at how many guys with Z06's are modding their cars. You will be dissappointed if you stick that Z06 stuff in your car after 1 week of driving around...too much labor for too little gains.
