Default Tire pressure sensor question

The dash display indicates a tire pressure sensor system problem and when checked shows a "no read" ftom the RR tire. I mounted new tires approx. 4 months ago, but have not had an issue.
If I run through a "re-learn" program is there a chance it will cure the problem, or is it common for these sensors to just go out like any other sensor?
I did install the frostking insulation about a month ago, but I'm not sure if that wold be a factor.
Thanks

They can fail, but the relearn procedure is definitely worth a try before you go buy a new sensor.

Good luck!

There are a few things that you can try before you replace the sensor. Relearn is the first! Also let the air out of the tire and refill it! Some times that will make it work again
They can go bad. The battery inside the sensor will go dead. My 98 sensors are still working fine! (KNOCK ON WOOD!!)

I've read that the battery is supposed to have a 10 year life.

Thanks guys..
The things you can learn on this forum; I did a serch and read everything I could find, but didn't see anything about a "battery" in the sensors. Is it replaceable if it is bad?
I am going to try the re-learn as soon as I get the time, but the battery theory is another option if it doesn't take.

There is a forum member who rebuilds the sensors. He puts in a new battery and charges less than a new sensor. If you have one bad one, it is best to do all four at the same time. You can order them and turn the others in later.

Default Sensors as well

My receiver I was told is out. I cannot use the key fob either at times. I replaced the sensors and still nothing. The dealer wants some big time Dough to replace the unit----

I tried re-learn a few times and still nothing. I just have given up.

If you get it too work then let me know --
