I am shocked that there isnt a skier behind this boat!!
mark, I am so sorry to hear about your car... I hope all is well and if not... I hope the repairs are as painless as possible... Ed can always stick in a 427 TT for you if you want...

Thought about that already but that'll be a hard sell after all the drivetrain work was recently done
Mark,
Could it be that the sudden starvation of air to the intake stopped the turbines and damaged the turbo units? I'm sure that hydrolock is not likely as the water has plenty of spots in the ducting and intercoolers to rest befor the intake. More likely, the water damaged the intake side of the turbines. I can't imagine that would be good for them.
An aside: Can we get a spell check on this forum??

I deff hydro'd mine 2 years ago in a similar situation but I had an MTI bottom feeder on, the way I could tell my was hydro'd was by the piston hanging out of the side of the block where it knocked the starter off, the cam was broken but only a couple of bent valves so salvaged the heads, this was a brand new H/C package as well--so believe me if you drove it home it was not locked and it can get a lot worse than that--I think you have lucked out (relatively speaking) believe me I have had a year with this pos of mine too I love the car but tuning has been a mfr--pull the plugs and just spin the motor over it won't start of course but you will see if any water or moisture comes out, the post the guy did about changing the oil and filter is the best way to handle it he knows what he's talking about--at least its fresh water if you had gotten salt water in there a year from now it could just fall apart like boat motors that get submerged--

Keep us posted Mark! I'm with several others here in thinking that if you were able to drive it home, it is not hydrolocked. It may have some turbo issues possibly, but not hydro'ed.

Second, sorry to hear about this Mark but I'm sure you'll be alright since you drove it home, you say it just didn't feel right but maybe thats because something got wet like the MAF or the filters may have been wet enough to cause a slight restriction either way I'm sure once the car completely dries out everything will be cool
Had this happen in my Z28. Drove through an underpass that had flooded in a nasty thunderstorm. The air filter, which hangs kinda low on LT1 Zs, got soaked and choked off the engine. Had it towed to the dealer (just in case), and they changed oil and PS fluid as a precaution, and it fired right up. After the floor carpeting dried out (several days removed from the car), I was good to go. 8 years later, it still runs good.
