Pull the plugs and turn the engine over. Does water come out of the plug holes?
It is possible sometimes to save a motor even if it has hydrolocked as long as no rod / bearing / crank damage has happened. Sometimes if you shut it down immediately it can be ok.
You need to first pull the plugs and turn it over several times to force the water out.
Then change the oil and filter, and obviously make sure the air filter is new or dry or both.
Then you need to put some oil, or special fluid into each plug hole. Start the car and get it up to operating temp. Then shut it off and change the oil / filter again.
My father has been a mechanic his entire life, and so are my uncle and grandfather. My dad was the one who told me about this, and it worked on a friends LT1 Impala that he hydrolocked this summer in a heavy rain.
It's worth a shot if you really think you hydrolocked it. If it's damaged it's already damaged, so you may as well try.
Was coming out of a parking lot and didn't see the standing water, was very shallow but went thru it under 10 mph and no time to slow down as it wasn't very large, in and out fairly quickly.
The car started to sputter and buck after that, never felt quite right, luckily close to home....just one more issue to deal with this devil car!
Devil car is right. That car has a dark cloud over it.
Probably not what you want to hear right now, but nontheless true. That car has been nothing but bad luck since the day you bought it.
It may be time to wash your hands of it and move on.
First the turbos almost immediately after you bought it, then the gears, the tranny and the clutch, and now this. Its almost like clockwork in that practically everything you post concerning that car is bad news.
Hopefully the damage is not too bad so that you won't have to throw any more money at it and can get rid of it at first opportunity.

Did the engine die? If not, you obviously didn't hydrolock it. Hydrolock is when you get enough water in the cylinders to prevent the rotating assembling from moving.
Granted, you could still have done some damage, like bending a rod. But if it was just sputtering a bit, I wouldn't sweat it. Dry it out as previously mentioned and see how she runs.
yeah it just sounds like you got some electrics wet. if you hydrolocked it, it would have died as water is not compressable. S Omething has to bend and its usually the rod Just dry her out and see how she does.
If it is still running then you may be ok. I hydrolocked my engine over a month ago. Broke a rod and sent it straight through the block. Pull your airfilter, air bridge, and plugs and check for water/moisture. You could also drain the oil and check for water there too.
My car is at A&A getting new Z06 engine, AFR heads and a custom cam. It's been hard not having the car. Only a few more days I hope.
Good luck Mark, hope it isn't as bad as you think.
A hydrolocked motor won't rotate and will lock up. Sounds like you just ingested some water.
I have a 5000 mile LS1 if you need a good deal on a stock bottom end. Includes a nice 216/224 114 Lunati cam also. Plz contact via PM. The motor is in Miami. I put a forged motor in last month.

Not a true bottom breather but the twin turbo intake filters do sit pretty low and thanks for the offer, will let you know
I have seen a few posts from members who have
hydrolocked engines. I believe their insurance
covered it (under comprehensive?). Good luck.
Hopefully it is something else easier to take care of.
Hey, no problems here AND a new tranny, i'll trade yah straight up!.....Sorry to hear about your problems mark! With the TT's i'd think it be easier to damage the turbos before the motor.....How's the oil look?
