I bought a '99 from a dealer here in Calif. They removed an after-market chip to pass smog. It is a small baige box with 4 wires and a black connecter on the end of the wires. Box is labled, CSOLUTIONS
INNOVATIVE ACCESSORIES FOR C5 ENTHUSIASTS. Can anyone tell me where it plugs in and what it does?
I checked the internet and could find anything about Csolutions.
My guess is it might be some type of MAF translator. MAF stands for Mass Airflow Sensor. This box was used to make adjustments to the computer instead of having the entire computer reprogrammed.
Did they remove it because it wouldn't pass the sniffer part or the visual check? If the box was causing the car to fail the sniffer test, you wouldn't want it put back in anyway.
You really don't need the box. As long as your car is running to your satisfaction, then just leave it out until you get better info on what it does.
