The single largest improvement I made to my 99 that affected every aspet of the cars behaivor and performance were the new Michelin Pilot Sport A/S ZP's I installed. Not only did they provide the safety and security of being a run-flat they reduced the road noise and nasty bump steer almost to non run-flat abilities.
Great in the rain and even snow. Yes I said snow. I took a road trip back to Milwaukee in Dec 2003 and got caught in a sudden lake effect snow storm that wasn't predicted by the weather guessers - a common event near lake Michigan. They clawed there way through the mess and got me safely to my destination.
I had them on my 99 for 2 years and 16K miles. They wear like iron. I still have the photo's I took to send to the guy that bought my car. Take a look at tires with over 16K miles on them:
I paid $1292 for them from tire rack in Feb 2002, these photo's were taken April 24th 2004.
I have the firestone rf's great tires, alittle noisy but traction is great to tell ya the truth, they are great under a flat condition as well, My gauge on my dash said 0 psi and the tire looked fine, so i kept drivin , did a few 120mph runs etc etc, i looked closer at the tire and it actually had no air in it, the damn rim had been cracked lol, these tires are great when it comes to flats, i mean come on no psi in the tire and u dont even knowtice it, i like em ...
I have been running the Yokohama AVS Sport Run Flats for almost two years and they are a huge improvement over the GY's. They are much quieter and the dry traction is super. The only down side is that the rear tires are almost gone but the fronts still have plenty of tread... I wonder what might be causing that
I went with the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Zero Pressure tires about 6 months ago and they have been great. Less road noise and a much smoother ride. I don't remember what the price was but they were a couple of dolars less the the GY when I purchased them.
Thanks everyone for all the great feedback. I had decided to go with the Kumhos. No go, they are on national backorder. No ETA on when they will be back in stock. Sooooooo I'm back to looking for what would be my second choice.
I see benefits to all three, GY, Mich, and Firestone. Got to weigh the issues again.

BO again?? damn that was the deal when they first started selling them
My vote goes for Michelin Pilot Sports A/S ZP. Quiet, nice ride, great traction. I have had them for about 2000 mi so I can't give you any facts about durability.
