Check engine light coming on

Is it possible that if too much oil were put into my car that it could cause a problem?

How much is TOO much? 1/2 - 1 Qt may not cause too much of a problem

too much oil could be just as bad as too little oil, if there is too much oil the pistions will slip further mixing the oil with the gas and burning both, car will run like a$$ and will shoot out white smoke... after a while if its not fixed you could have serious problems... happen to my buddys trans am... but he was 1.5-2 qts over..
