Which brakes to go with???
I have to keep stock sizes so I can run my 16" CCW's at the track, and thats about all the track racing I do. Just the drags and besides that street driving. Some stop light grand prix's but I never push my brakes on the street, no canyon carving or anything like that. I never put myself in situations where I need great brakes, stock seem to work fine for me but I do want to upgrade since the time has come to change them. I had planned to go with the Eradispeed kit with 2 piece front & 1 piece rear in stock sizes with the Hawk street pads for around $799 and then adding SS lines, but have heard mixed reviews about the hawk pads and have heard some good things about the raybestos for the street. While looking I see wilwood has a kit for around $1,100 with SS lines. I also remember hearing about Stop force rotors ( I think thats what they were called) they were supposed to be very similar or the same as Porsche rotors with less chance of cracking then others
( forget why) and can't find them now.
I do not want pads that make noise, I will give up some performance for no noise. I can deal with some brake dust if it means better braking to some extent.
So please give me your input. Again I don't think I need the best because I never push them but do want the best for my money and money is not the deciding factor but a concern to some extent.
Thanks for the input and sorry for the long post. Vendors feel free to shoot me quotes of what ever you have to offer. I am tired of searching each vendors website.
If you have 16" wheels then you will need to look for rotors that will fit inside that rim.
If you have the standard size wheels, the stock corvette brakes are great and inexpensive.
When the type of driving that you do, there is no real need to speed big dollars unless you really want too. The Wilwood kits are great ungrade brake calipers that work on stock rotors.
Hawk pads are very good pads but do dust alot and will squeek. PFC-Z pads from Autozone are a great compromise for perfermance, no dust or noise.
There are some other threads on brakes with some healthy discssions on rotors. Raybestos rotors from Rockauto.com or NAPA are the choise of for guys who track, race or High Performance Drivers Education, (track days.) rotors are $20 to $25 each. Best rotor on the market
Do a search and look at other threads on brakes to see other ppls ideas. Check this thread too http://forums.corvetteforum.com/showthread.php?t=929252
Good Luck.

4,000 miles of use and they still look great.
