Output Shaft Replacement (A4)
I've got he tranny out (A4), torque converter, and carrier off. Want to install hardened output shaft. Have the service manual but no where can I find how to remove the shaft. I assume there is a clip somewhere (behind the seal?) that needs to be removed and then pull the shaft out.
I've heard of this being done in a short timeframe so I can't imagine surgery is required. Anyone know or have instructions they can point me to?

Update: Figured it out. Took a little doing to get it apart but was able to do so without removing the bearings and keeping the friction discs and everything in order. Already back together.
?'s: The manual says to use new Ring Gear bolts, no loc-tite and torque to 144ftlbs. New ones worth the trouble? (I wonder how many people just zap the old ones on with an impact wrench?)
