Default Car will not start

What advice can one give on the problem? Put my key in, all is working fine, push the clutch in to start, will not. Have full power. Take key out and start over. I get nothing on my DIC but the "Corvette by" wording. Try to start again, no go.....It is the same attempt to start your car without pushing in the clutch. I know I have made sure I have pushed the clutch to the floor on several times, but still no start.

Any suggetions.

clean your key with some alcohol, and then use an alcohol laden q-tip in the ignition...

Your problem could be one of a NUMBER of things. Here is where I would start:

1. Make sure that your battery terminals are clean and tight. Dont guess! Take them off and check.

2. There are TWO switches in the starter circuit. One is the clutch safety switch which is on the firewall directly behing the clutch pedel. When you press the clutch to the floor it activates the switch. You can use an ohm meter to see if that switch is working properly.

The other is the theft deterrant relay. It is located in the passengers foot well behind the toe board. Remove the toe board and you will see a shiney silver box. The box is the Body Control Module (BCM) The fire wall area in front of and above the BCM, there will be two relays. The Theft deterrent relay will have four wires (yellow, black/yellow stripe, red and purple. The red and purple wires are the heavy gauge wires that energize the starter solonid. The yellow & yellow and black stripe wires are the control signal wires from the BCM. When you stick the "CORRECT" key into the ignition the security system then allows the BCM to energize the theft control relay and complete the circuit to the starter. You can remove that relay and examine it. I pulled the plastic cover off mine and it was full of water!!!
I jumpered the purple and red wires with a jumper wire until I could replace the relay!

There are three fuses in that circuit also. I am at work and do not have access to my shop manuals so I can not tell you which ones they are right now.

Please e-mail me after you have examined the components listed above and let me know what you find.
