This intake is not worth the hassle that you go through during installation. You are much better off just using a Blackwing and the quality is MUCH better...
I disagree with that statement. Blackwing is easy but the TRAP gives better power and the next TRAP I could put in easily.

first timers have a hell of a time installing this item. I have a 04 Z06 and I would have to disagree that the Trap gives more power then a Blackwing. If it does, it is not worth the extra few horses for the PITA install and poor quality and fit, not to mention the extra $$$!

I had the same trouble. The idea of the cold air from the front of the car is great but the unit does not fit without bulging the radiator shroud and the lower bumper area. You will also find that it hits the hood. I sent mine back too, I like a clean fit and finish along with the performance gain. If it does not fit or look professional I don’t want it on my car.
TRAP never hit the hood I had that problem with the blackwing. Only problem with the TRAP is a small bulge on the bottom of the bumper that cannot be seen.

I did the old manometer routine and found that the Blackwing was just as effective at 60MPH as a functional Forced Air duck, of which the Hall tech is not.
Has anyone ever wondered why none of these manufacturers of air filters dont publish a pressure tests at speed. They claim that there is an advantage and publish nothing to support the claim. I'm not talking about SOP or unsupported track times. Just measure the G'Damn MAF before and after and we'll know. But they don't.
For Example:
"Does the CRAP™ work? A very well known xxxxxx xxxxx Corvette shop told our most recent customer:.........that the CRAP™ works! ", this is not a claim, its hear say at best.
Poorly designed! Also has been known to throw codes on the newer Z06's.
According to a well-known Southern Cal tuner, many aftermarket intake filter systems cause 04 Z06s to throw lean codes. Apparently, the combination of no MAF screen and a narrower range of AF adjustability often results in lean code generation.

The Blackwing has not thrown any codes on my 2004 Z06. Knock on wood!
