Default Dumb Cooling System Question

I have an elementary LS1/LS6 cooling system question. When coolant is circulating and the heater is OFF is coolant still being pumped through the heater core/system or is there some kind of bypass mechanism that routes coolant away from this area. For those in the know, please trace the coolant path from the radiator, through the system, and back to the radiator. Thanks.

I looked in the shop manual and there is NOT any coolant shut off valve. The air is dirverted into or around the heater core to control the heat.

Yep, just like my '94 Z-28, except the doors are moved via vacuum rather than a cable.

Have a good one,
Mike

Seems like I remember reading that the mode select is vacuum operated but the temp door is operated by an electric motor. This being on the manual AC system.
