Default exhaust

anyones aftermarket exhaust rattles at low rpms
rattle being like its rubbing on something under the car ive looked under the car and thought one of the tips on the stingers were toucing so i adjusted it down a touch now its worse than before
i can see nor feel any contact with the exhaust pipes from the h- pipe on back when i first installed it the exhaust didnt make this noise now it does any ideas the only thing i could possibly see that could be causing the problem is the tab where the factory rubber hanger hooks to the car
one tab is bent and making contact with the black styrofoam on the bumper support other than that nothing
i have borla stingers 2 tip and the rest is factory
any ideas

is this the resonating everyone has spoke of or is resonance referring to the droning noise in the cab you get with some aftermarket exhausts
its just a slight vibration when accelarating slowly
if this is so what can i do to fix it

Had the same problem when I first installed my FLP headers and x-pipe. I simply loosened up all the bolts so that the system was completely lose and then retighten everything starting at the headers. I also made sure I rotated tightening each side, like you would a tire. Worked for me. Now I get a rattle at after I rev the engine. I think it's the springs that are attached to the rear end holding up the rear of the x-pipe, I think I'm going to wrap those springs with muffler tape just to try and keep them in place. Hope this helps.

When your engine is off and your under the car examining everything the drive train and exhaust system is in a static condition. When you are driving the car your engine torques and moves the exhaust system. Figure out what could be hitting when the engine/drive train is under torque.
My 02 Z has the same problem and I just have to figure out a time to jack her up and dive under to readjust everything!

If you look on the right side where the exhaust routes up by the transmission you will find it is very tight on the right side and sometimes you will get a little rub between the pipe and the trany. check that area closely as you will find that you need to fiddle around in there to get good clearance. Anyway that is where mine rattle.

If the Borlas are anything like my Corsas, adjusting the tips down causes the muffler to pivot up. Maybe you have a section of pipe or muffler rattling against the heat shield (above where the stock mufflers were)?
