Looking to replace the sloppy shifter on my 2000 C5. Has anyone looked into which if the aftermarket shifters are best (road race type driving, not drag) Kirban, B & M , Hurst. Also any major problems with any of these products?
I have a B&M Ripper in my 00 Coupe. It is a PITA to get into 1st and reverse. Once into 1st it shifts great going into 2nd and all the rest of the forward gears. The Redline in the tranny helps too.

i have Hurst and like it
but i have read awesome things about the adjustability for the Breathless Performance shifter- can adjust angles, spring tensions, etc... makes it very versatile and permits personal preference
Bruce,
I too was looking for an aftermarket shifter to replace the stock unit in my 2001 Coupe. I wanted shorter throws, more precise engagement, etc.
Mark (Corvette forum member: Mdhmi) let me drive his vette with the Hurst shifter last week. I was very skeptical at first and after driving Marks' car with the Hurst, I ordered one today!!!
It is very nice. I highly recommend it. I cannot wait to get mine installed.
Don't discount the BPP. It is easily the most adjustable shifter on the market and features a plastic vibration isolation wedge to filter out the chatter is is common among aftermarket shifters. I hope to order one by the end of the month.
Hurst for me. With their over size billard ball classic Hurst 6-speed **** there is no vibration or noise. I miss no shifts now and going from 2nd to third is like a knife in butter.
