Are the TPM's run through the BCM interface. I'd definetely look for plugged drains as well as any distrubed chassis grounds. Good luck. Any thing else we can do, let us know. Jeff

Bill..... Terrific reply!! You truly are an asset to this Forum.

I must say, I *kinda* feel like this poor guy too from time to time. Here's a list of my little issues currently with my '01 Vette:

1. Headlights dim, almost all the time.

2. In the summertime my turn signals would work... sometimes, not all the time. And I never really could get them to "fail" when I wanted to. Pressing the road hazzard flasher button would MAGICALLY cause the turn signals to work. No problems now that it's colder out, what's up with that?

3. Fuel gauge is not reading correctly. Even after filling the car, it'll only read 1/2 full. I tried running BG44K through it, did not seem to help. Mostly likely some of the sending units are bad?

4. Recently on two times my oil dipstick has "popped" up and oil has made a first-class mess. Honestly, the "dipstick" behind the wheel :o should have let off the gas some (did see 12psi!!) both times.... but now I'll need to address this crankcase boosting issue. Not GM's problem, my own so I take full responsibility.

5. Rocking seat!!! Ugh!!!!

I think that's about it. I had an '89 5.0 LX before, the only problem I had was a busted tranny (3rd. was a notorious issue on T5's)..... That aside the Ford had NONE of these little annoying issues that my Vette has today.

I still feel the Vette is a TERRIFIC car, but these things do detract from my complete enjoyment of this vehicle. Sorry for being long-winded!!

we shall see what the dealer says and how much they are wanting to fix something that i am sure is just trivial, **** poor design.

i think i need about 20 of these
Sorry to hear of your problems but if you are even remotely considering a blown Cobra as a means of alleviating your problems, then you are in for a big disappointment. Just vist their forums for even one day.

Or speak to a group of Cobra owners personally, and in most instances you will find that , to a man, not a single one will have anything that could even be mistaken as something good to say about their dealers.

You speak of an "A$$ raping" at your Chevy dealer. Buy a Cobra and you may as well buy two sets of handcuffs so that you can cuff your wrists to your ankles for the treatment I can guarantee that you will get from the Ford dealers. I own a Ford and I speak from personal experience.

I gotta say, other than the few flames because someone is frustrated, this post is just proof how awesome this board is. Geez I am getting all warm and fuzzy here. Bill Curley, you have helped me in the past and honestly, I wished you were my neighbor. Keep up the awesome help. You rock.

Dads, I just read a post concerning the fuel gage thing and this looks like a possible fix. Might help with at least one of your problems.
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/showthread.php?t=955724

And lastly, folks, I don't car what kind of car you have, how much it cost, who built it, it is going to have something go wrong at one point or another. Get on any forum for any car and someone is posting that they have problems. Some are just more notorious than others. Don't know about the 04 Cobra's but I know the 03 Cobra's had a lot of problems. I love Mustangs too so I am not biased.

Good luck to all and their problems.

Jim K.

Was there a technical point in that, or are you just venting?

Guy's

I have run the course on electrical issues and have won the game for all but one of my NUMEROUS 98 Coupe electrical issues (Fuel Guage drops to empty at 3/4 tank). I'm in the books ALL the time and love a challenge. If you have a problem, I'm game on helping solve it!

Have a GREAT holiday. Oh yea, tomorrow is MOD day for the ZO6! Yeeeeeeeee haaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!
