So I had an LS6 engine installed in my 97. Now my AC won't come on. When I flip the switch to AC I get no cold air and on top of it when I flip between normal vents/defrost/foot vents... it seems to do nothing. When I switch between outside air and recylcled air it doesn't make that falp noise it used to and I can't tell the difference.
Is any of this stuff controlled by the computer? I did have the computer reprogrammed??? I'm going to have them check the wireing but the lights on the controls seem to look fine.
Well I can help you on the vent problem without to much trouble. Your vents are VACUUM operated .. The vacuum source for the HVAC system comes off of the back of the intake manifold. This is an easy area to screw up cause the hose is short and the space is TIGHT!
Here is a picture of the fitting: The nipple for the hose is in the red circle

The small nipple is where it connects.

Make sure that the hose is properly connected to the back of the manifold. You will probably need a small mirror to check it! It is a BITCH to get to!
As for the AC not working, it could be a number of issues and you will have to answer a list of questions for me to ba able to narrow it down.
Was the AC system removed when the engine was swapped?
Does the compressor clutch enguage when the AC is turned on?
