My 2 cents based on some analysis of what you are seeing:
- It's not the battery. 11.8 volts on the DIC is more than enough to start. The DIC always reports a lower value than the actual battery.
- The fact that the column lock motor does not energize when you turn the key is the first hint. If the problem was a failed column lock, then the car would start, but the engine would shut down when you tried to drive off.
My $$ is the problem is in your ignition switch. The ignition switch will unlock the column lock when the key is turned to ON. Either the switch is bad or the Passkey system is not reading the key pellet and that will prevent the car from starting.
Let us know what the dealer finds out.
Ya I just spoke with the dealer and the tech told me that the whole car went into lock mode but he does not know why yet but will call me within a few hours and I will report the findings to you guys.
I would be very surprised if it were the battery as I not only tried to jump it but I also had my neighbor who works at a dealership as a mechanic come over and look at it and he does not think it is the batter either. Anyway maybe I will try to replace the battery first just to be sure. BTW what is "AGM" ?

Optima Red Top battery is a great choise for your car.
Optima, although I do not believe you will see AGM anywhere on them ARE AGM batteries. They are leakproof.
AGM: Absorbed Glass Matt construction allows the electrolyte to be suspended in close proximity with the plate's active material. In theory, this enhances both the discharge and recharge efficiency. Actually, the AGM batteries are a variant of Sealed VRLA batteries. Popular usage high performance engine starting, power sports, deep cycle, solar and storage battery. AGM batteries are typically good deep cycle batteries and they deliver best life performance if recharged before the battery drops below the 50 percent discharge rate. If AGM batteries are discharged to a rate of 100 percent the cycle life will be 300 plus cycles and this is true of most AGM batteries rated as deep cycle batteries.

Well I went out to the garage toniight to go take the Corvette for a spin but when I went to start it ....... Nothing ???? It says it has 11.8 volts and the headlights work and look like they have full power ??? I only bought this thing like 3 weeks ago and have put less than 200 miles on it !! It is a 2002 coupe with 23k miles on it and I am stumped as to why it will not start as it has only been in the garage for like a week since I last drove it. I called the dealer and they said they can have it towed in tomorrow but I wanted to check with you guys first to see if you had any ideas before I send it to them ?? Please let me know if you have any ideas.
Thanks

I've had the car freeze up on my '02 as well. If you haven't tried this, I recommend disconnecting the battery for a few seconds and then reconnecting. Worked for me and it allowed me to get the car to the dealer and have it checked out. Bad module in my case. Just a thought. It just might save you when you have nothing to lose and the risk is zero.
Well I just picked the car up from the dealer and it turned out to be a bad ignition which in turn locked up the car. Good news is that I get to take it for a spin tomorrow as it is supposed to be sunny out Thanks for all the great responses you guys are the greatest
