The doors swingout? Removable door bars completely?
Thanks for the pictures BTW.

How much in the way is it and how many points is it?

And the rest:

As far as mounting the harnesses. the harness straps should be mounted on a bar beind the seats. the straps should be no greater then + 5 or -30 degrees off horizontal of the drivers shoulders. If the staps are mounted below that -30 degree of horizontal AND the driver has an accident the linkly hood of a spinal compression fracture goes up dramaticly. In many cases this means an additional harness mounting bar should be welded accross the main roll hoop be hind the seats.
Belts really should go though holes in the seats. If there are no seat holes then a chest latch should be used. Again in a head on collission if the belts are monted improply and go around the seats and there is NO chest latch the driver could slide though the harness system and the harness has done little good.
Roll bar padding should also be used in any place where the head / helmet of the driver and or passanger could hit the roll bar / cage. Acctully any place of contant that the human body may have with the roll cage should be padded.
many times it is great to have all the safty equipment, but as the more safty equipment we install the more techincal the details need tobe. So someone says well I drag race and all they do is see that I have a roll cage and they say I am good to go.
Is that really protection? Or some one says I dont race in the SCCA or NASA so who cares?? Well it is your life, do it properly.
Here is a guild line that many ppl use for the High Performance Driving Schools that also have time trials. personal safty part 5 and 6.

Or the SCCA safty rules GDR Sec20
May like to look at this as well about roll overs.

Stay safe out there and have fun.

As for belts, my 6 point setup is correct.
I agree on the padding/Hans/etc, but most folks just do the minimum……each to their own.

Mine is certified to 10.0 and adequate for my application. Belts are properly installed with a sternum strap. As stated above my belts go around my seats and from that aspect of safety and the fact that i'm short a sternum strap was needed to keep me safe in the unlikely event of an accident.
this picture shows extra bars 6" up from the floor for additional strength.
)Thanks for everyone's comments and pictures.
If you are drag racing for instance.. running faster than 7.49 in the 1/8th a five point is fine.
Wolfe Racecraft has 20% off right now and they have some NICE bolt in cages. I just ordered a 5 point bolt in with a removable drivers side bar, no passenger bar is necessary. No hoop overhead, etc.
Again, depends on what you are going to do with the car.
I got the Chromoly 5 point with a cam lock 5 point harness and the crotch bar that goes on the floor.. all for a hair over $1000. Bar is black powder coated as well.
Check them out at www.wolferacecraft.com, tell them I sent you. (NO they don't really know me, but everyone always tells you that, then you call and the people on the other end are like, "WHO?")
I've heard of Wolfe before and am impressed with their quality/fitment in other vehicles I've seen them installed in.
