Been driving the Vette in this cold midwest weather lately. I've noticed my normal 19.8 city has gone down to 18.0 mpg. Is that typical in colder weather? Lived in Phoenix the last 3 years so the vette never saw weather this cold. 64K and no major mods to speak of.
It will relearn itself. Oxygenated fuel is used to help reduce emissions in areas that have "smog" or problems meeting clean air standards. You will get poorer fuel mileage with oxygenated fuel.
Extreme cold temps will cause you to comsume more fuel to get the proper air/fuel ratio! Any thing below 25 degrees and you will really notice lower fuel economy. I drove 150 miles in 0 degree weather and my normal 28-30 mpg was more like 23 - 25 MPG! Its normal!
Right now it is 4 degrees here in Groton CT!!!!!! I think I will go out and wash the car!
