Rear end ratios-Comments please
Not sure what he is thinking. But here goes.........
4.10 gears 1st gear feels useless IMO, second is over quick after that it's nice, 3rd pulls hard, 4th pulls like 3rd and so on. Will not improve track times as you tend to spin the wheels too much. Maybe good for a drift car.
3.90 gears lots of grunt, can still use first for a short distance, 4th will feel like 3rd, 5th like 4th. Not a big % diff from 4.10 but feels much better matched to revs the engine likes. Feels stout, big sotp diff from 3.42s in a Z.
3.73 gears maybe the best solution as they are a spec gear. The larger the gear the more chance they will have problems in the Getag diff housing. These are the most Getag recommends and GM sells.
6500rpm
4.10 1=41mph 2= 59 3= 86 4 =123 5= 146
3.90 1=44mph 2= 63 3= 91 4 = 130 5 = 154

I put Nitto RII's (305/35/18) and they made a significant increase in useable traction in the lower gears-still have to learn to feather the throttle in 1st, 2nd, 3rd!
