Default Autocross Question

I recently autox my 04 C-5 w/A4 & 3.15's. 2 strange things happened. 1. When I floored it from a dead stop I went about 10-15 ft (accererating pretty good) and then a pop from under the hood (sounded like a backfire) and then it seemed to really take off. I've tried this several times since and it does it pretty consistently.
2. About 3/4 of the way through the course I hear a "ding" and when can look down I see "Trac Cont warming up" displayed. I'd had it in "Comp Driving" a while before any of my runs.

Anybody have any suggestions? I'm ready to visit the dealer, but thought I'd check here first for any Ideas.......Thanks.

give your pcv valve a quick look - make sure it is clear

as for the traction control.... I am not sure - I have never seen the warm up message while in comp mode... I know normally the message is no problem

Ususally, when the TC warming up light comes on in competitive mode, you just overdrove the car and it is politely letting you know.

The AH system needs to calibrate itself after each start up before it can work properly. To calibrate the system the car has to be driven in a straight line for a couple hundred feet above 6 mph. This allows the car to determine the straight ahead position of the steering wheel. If you do not do this sometimes the system gets enough distance on the first straightaway to finish its calibration but most of the time it shuts itself off and goes into warm up mode and you get the messages you posted above.

Thanks guys. I'll check the pcv valve and try driving in a straight line first before I start my runs. The course started with a 360 degree turn so I probably really confused it.
