I am curious to see just what percentage of forum users will actually modify the performance (Horsepower / Torque etc.) of their cars vs. appearance / aesthetic modifications, or no modifications at all.
I've already upgraded the stereo speakers. I'm researching wheels and better tires, needed by mid-year. Once the tuning tools are available and some experience has been gained with them, engine and tranny upgrades are next, likely starting next fall. A higher stall converter, reprogrammed shift points, and a nitrous kit, are near the top of that list.
When you modify a Corvette you are taking most buyers out of the market.
Would you really buy a car that was beat to death or looks like a circus wagon?
NO! My C6 is faster than my old '01 Z06, and just as fast as my old '02 & 04 Zo6's were, and it's an Automatic!!
The performance factor is already a 10..............sure heads/cam pkg, hedders, ect will add more hp and tq, and thats just fine for those power "junkies". ( I confess I WAS one once!)
However, for most of us, real world performance does not lie at the upper end of the RPM scale.............give me 400 lb of torque from 2500 RPM and let the curve be flat to 5500 RPM!
I would like the sound of my C6 to sound like my '04 Z06 ( stock Ti exhausts) though.

Dyno tuned to get 425 ft/lbs of torque from 2200 up to 5700 rpms, flat torque curve here.
Alpine 660 Watt stereo,Kook's headers, magnaflo cats and x pipe, corsa dual pro 4" tips.Only thing left is tuning when available.Everything can be returned to stock if I trade in but " why"?
Hmmm the only mods will be cosmetic..Z51 took care of the stuff I'm interested in (plenty of power but needs to stay planted). As far as cosmetics...Z51 enblem for the rear along with the 44 led third tailight (safety and killer looks). After that I think she is near perfect...can't take my eyes off her
