hey -- thanks a million -- have been waiting for a long time for someone to post up some pics of these.

They DO grow on you -- really not bad looking. I am going to give the cleartastic stuff a try, and if I'm not happy with it I'll get a set of these. Good post

What size wheel chocks can you get behind the tires with the splash guards installed?

I didn't really want to do this mod, but I figure it's the lesser of two evils. Just installed my set today, but only the front flaps. The rears were much smaller than the front, and I don't know if they are going to do a whole lotta good anyway. You have to clip on the rears, versus using mounting holes like for the front. I may decide later to put them on, but for now I'm gonna leave them off.

The front's really don't look that bad, and even blend in rather nicely with the car. My hope is that the front flaps will cut down on the dirt/brake dust/tire cleaner that builds up on the side panels, as well as prevent stones from hitting the lower end door panels. This problem area is affecting everyone, as I've already gotten a few minor chips there.

Looks good as well.

Tommy - think your mod looks great but would detract from the functionality

The flaps would probably look and blend in a lot better if they were color matched to the car?

zip-products.com (one of the sponsors) sells altec rear splash guards in matching colors. I just ordered some Friday, even though for me its black on black.

To me black mudflaps when viewed from behind a vehicle blend in with the tires and therefore do not standout. If the were body color to me it would stand out more.

I ordered the black ones from MAD to have when my car arrives.

I know many think mudflaps look crappy on a Corvette and would not be happy with any design which was posted as they are fundamently apposed to the concept. I have had them on my last three and they really don't bother me much anymore.

These look almost so small however to be almost non functional. So I think they made them smaller in hopes they will have more appeal and look less tacky, but perhaps too small to protect much of anything?

Too bad they don't make a version with that little naked lady sitting down like ya see on them semis. The ones where she is chrome would be even nicer. The guys with all the chrome would like that extra naked lady BLING.

I keep having to buy stuff to keep sane while waiting for my '06. I trimmed the front "shields", to look more like the rear, and to help them from looking like "mud flaps." I hope they'll still protect.

Are yours also from Mid America and were they difficult to trim?

Yes, Mid America. I forgot to take a pic before cutting, but here is what I cut off. I just used some Fiskars heavy duty scissors and eye balled it. Easy to cut.
