Borlas!
I called a distributer called 21st Century, in Boynton Beach. They gave me an amazing deal on the Borlas; $150 less than the next best price. I decided to do the cat backs, without X-pipe, b/c I may add headers one day.
Picked up the parts today, drove home and got to work! I cranked up 93.1 (alternative rock) and lifted the car used 4 jack stands. Not an easy job for a novice, but I was glad I did it myself. Looking back, I'm sorry I didn't get the X-pipe after all, b/c the H-pipe was totally removed in the installation process.
After getting at least 3 cuts, sore neck, back, and knees, I was finally done. Took me about 3 hours; again, this is my first such job. Cranked up the car, and WOW! This thing ROCKS! No longer need to mod my stereo! The only downside, so far, is that I can tell my mileage is gonna crash, b/c it is just so much fun to hear it roar! And, by the way, all my concerns about fit and finish are gone; it doesn't stick out beyond the bumper like in others I have seen, and the quad round tips are quite large and aggressive!
Would I do it again? In a second! While most other doctors are busy on the golf course when they get an afternoon off, I'm never happier than when I'm getting dirty in my yard, on my roof, and now, under my car! I may have a second career yet!
Here are some prelim pics; it was getting late, so the lighting isn't too good.
Now, I gotta go hang with my family, before my wife starts getting really pissed! Later -
One question for ya...I have not heard the Borla's in a C6 however I rode in a C5 the other day with the Borla's installed (no X-pipe) and there was a very annoying drone sound in the lower rpm range...GREAT sound once ya got goin' though...any thoughts on this???

Edit: I just went out for a 10 minute ride. Pretty loud throughout the lower rpms and on downshifting. The higher rpms are loud, but they were before, too. I think the biggest difference is in the 1000-4000 rpm range. They have minimal drone, I think, at 1600-1800 rpms; pass through it very quickly. More to come.

they look great.
by the way, I have not experienced any drone in the 2 months I have had mine on my c6.
glad you listened to them before making a decision. cb

I showed a friend at work who drives an 04 C5; his response was "you'll have to get me the phone number of that distributer!"
Regards and Thanks!
