I don't know. If you could post a few less facts, your post might be a little MORE vague. You didn't wander all the way over here just to make ANOTHER "I don't own one but gee the C6 really sucks" post, did you?
I have a C6 with nav and I agree that the routing is often very strange. It does get us there, just by an odd route. This is enough of a thing that my wife and I have made a game of it, using the nav around town on routes we know well. The three routes offered usually vary from okay to hilarious, we then pick the least likely one and follow it. As I say, we do get there in the end!
Some of this is due to outdated data, but not most of it. It seems pretty clear the the data on road condition, speed limits, etc. used to select routes is pretty poor.
It totally sucks....Sat. I put in an address it was trying to send me north on the freeway, when I knew in fact the destination was south....I got there without the nav., it needs a major improvement.
I think most nav systems have the same problem. I have an aftermarket system. I know the fastest routes around my county, but it appears that the nav program assumes the shortest route is also the fastest. Mine doesn't consider waits at traffic lights or the number of stop signs. Going an extra mile or so at twice the average speed gets me home faster. At least with the automatic re-routing feature, once I deviate from the suggested route it recalculates and put me on my favorite route. On longer trips that use state and national highways it always picks the best route.
I find it to be useful and accurate. Occasionally it will select a weird route, but mostly it selects the way I would drive it. I find it easier to select way points than my wife's Acura TL system. I like being able to enter portion of the name and enter the city to get results. I would purchase Vette nav again. Thanks.
This topic has been discussed at length in other posts so there is plenty of information on this matter. What I will say here is that I don't understand why so many people are having so many problems with the NAV system.
I use mine all the time and it gets me to my destinations perfectly and directly. I find it very easy to use and I have used a number of other GPS systems. I also own a very good Garmin portable unit and I use it in my other vehicles.

No one else had a problem understanding my post. I would suggest to you to stay out of threads that you have nothing constructive or helpful to add. You may also want to work on your reading comprehension skills. I didn't say the C6 sucks. I said the C6 navigation sucks and I'm seeing I'm not the only one.
To the others...thanks for your replies. My friend and I have had several different Nav systems and they are all accurate for the most part. The Z06 nav is almost not worth using compared to the other Nav units we have. Escalade, BMW and MB nav units are the ones we have been using besides an after market Eclipse unit that also works well.
For example, you CAN configure it to AVOID FREEWAYS.
I have used the C6 Nav system for over 15,000 miles and it has worked very well.
That includes a 9,300 mile cross-country roundtrip with lots of zig-zags, and a 900 mile roundtrip to San Francisco.
I strongly suspect you have either AVOID FREEWAYS, AVOID TOLLROADS, or both enabled.
Thanks for you suggestion. So far we have used it locally and not near toll roads or freeways. We are not new to navigation and have been through all the menus. It just doesn't seem to be accurate. Wants us to turn where there is no street or take us in a direction that is well out of the way of either the quickest or shortest route. We're gonna try a disk from another C6 of a guy who says his works fine and see what happens. It also does not recognize streets that have been on the maps forever. Hopefully the updated disk will be out soon and that will cure the problem. From reading other threads it seems like many people are having the same problem so I don't think it is user negligence.
Has anyone found a place that can change your nav where it can also play regular DVD's?. I found a place that has done the nav for an Acura and Infiniti but not GM.
