Default Finally took the plunge...Wheel Question

I have been hanging out in the Forum for a few months now, silently soaking up info from you experts. The Forum has been great in arming me with necessary decision to order my F55 Monterey Red Vert w/ Nav last week. I can't explain my excitement and can't wait for delivery.

I do have an additional question on aftermarket wheels. I am not totally in love with the painted aluminum wheels. Everything I read here seems to imply I need special "Corvette" wheels for my new indulgence. Is there any reason why any 18" x 8.5 and 19" x 10 aftermarket wheels would not fit?

Thanks again for the knowledge.

Hope all have a blessed and safe holiday season!!

Wow,

I am underwhelmed with the enthusiastic welcome to the forum, congratulations, and multiple responses to my question...

Does anyone know if I need "special" aftermarket wheels or will the ones in the aforementioned sizes work?

Thanks

I have not made up my mind. Before I got too deep in the selection process I wanted to verify any 18" x 8.5 and 19" x 10 aftermarket wheels combination would fit.

It appears by the posts I've read that most tend to stay closer to a stock look variation or the Z06 replicas. I was unsure if there was some other consideration (brake clearance issues maybe) besides looks.

This is my first Vette and I have not had an issue with other aftermarket wheels. Did not want to waste a lot of time and energy if I needed a "Vette specific" wheel.

Hope that makes sense...

You need to check the offset for one thing.

check for the acceptance of the sensors first. you need to have the flat area around the inside of the stems so the sensor will mount correctly, then check your offsets(usually not a major issue)most wheel in the 9 to 11 inch size will fit.
