GM makes every kind of Car for every type of person. Wake up everyone driving your foreign cars.........you're cutting the throat of your children and America's Future.
This starts right at the school level. The teachers at where I drop my grade and high school children off all drive foreign cars, I counted today all the cars in the teachers parking lot, 6 out of 10 was a foreign brand WTF ??? American economics are not being taught in school nowadays. If someone takes (steals money)from your family (America) and laughing because the police(US Goverment) wouldn't do nothing.......what's wrong then ??? My .02 and I don't care what criticism I hear about American Cars or the workers. I will cotinue to support my Country, and buy only AMERICAN cars.Save the Wave.>George

GM will survive but as someone said things have changed alot in the last thirty years. GM is no more a American company than Toyota is a Japanese company. Their management, manufacturing and employees are international and so are the stockholders. GM's American pension obligations and labor contracts are a nightmare though.....but if you look at GM's international efforts I think it's future is bright as long as it continues improving it's products. American branding is a powerful force and Cadillac is red hot in China. I think there is a good chance that GM will have to do a chapter 11 just to get out of it's unrealistic pensions and uncompetitive labor contracts, so I would not be an owner of the stock as the stockholders may lose their hind ends but the company will survive in one form or another. Ten years ago I wouldn't even think about buying anything made by GM, now my two favorite cars are both made by GM...Cadillac CTS and Chevy Corvette.

If American Car will have Japanese quality I will buy it. I have vette for week-end drive and Honda for regular days. I had ford before, never again.

Japanese quality is a much over stated fallacy and the people that buy them want to believe it.

I would guess that GM will enter bankruptcy within 5 years, shed pension obligations and high cost labor contracts, and emerge from bankruptcy as a vigorous competitor. Same for Ford. Didn't stop me from buying a C6 in December.
