I really like some of the upgrades and if they can improve the Blose Audio system that is worthwhile....however as several people have said I'm not interested in the power top. I plan to own this car until the wheels fall off and I know the history of power tops with several makes and models and something always breaks on them. Glad I've got a 3LT convertible with a manual top coming in two weeks.
Body side mouldings? Yuck! Now when I buy a used C6 in the future I might have to spend another 4 hours removing those ugly things like I did with my C5 the day after I got it.
I don't know why so many people complain about the power top. I mean if you can afford $60K for a car, you should want and expect this kind of luxury. Sure you can do it manually in a few seconds, but it is always good to have this luxury.
IMO the Corvette should of had this in the C5 and is late to the party w/this for the C6, but at least it is here.
Actually it is still late to the party as it is probably one of the last high-end convertibles that doesn't have a fully automated top like the Lexus SC430, MBZ 500SL and even cheaper convertibles. Hopefully they will catch up w/the C7.
Only thing that sounds great would be too see what those two tone seats look like curious. Glad their wasnt a HP engine upgrade that sends me over the edge!

Anyone know if Onstar will be an option for any trim package? It's so stupid to offer it standard on 3LT and not make it at least an option for the 1LT and 2LT.

It's my understanding that Onstar will be standard in '07 -- required with all trim levels.
Don't get me wrong, my car has plenty of power in stock form, but what does the Vette say when my wife, who is not a car person says; "why would GM put the same engine in a Trailblazer, a GTO, and a CTS-V", "isn't the Vette suposed to be the biggest and baddest?" Then I have to explain to her, and remember she is not a car person, the Vette is faster. So she replys with; "is that because it's lighter?"
HEY GM, GIVE US MORE POWER, SO WE CAN BE EXCLUSIVE!!!
Screw the power top it should be a power hardtop by now...I have had three GM power top converts and never had a single problem with the power top in any of them. This should have been standard on the C5 except for the Conv ZO6, if they made one.
[QUOTE=GTC] Yes, even Scions have radio controls on the wheel, and I'm enjoying it. Heck, even my '97 Firebird had radio controls on the wheel. It is not new technology to GM. They decided not to do it on vettes until now. If the rumor mills are true, Dave Hill was completely against radio controls on the wheel, and that is why they are becoming available only after he is passing on the torch to the next guy. I'd say leave the steering wheel radio controls an options. Some people like them, and some people don't.
Another reason to like Dave Hill, he wouldn't let them turn the Vette into a 97 Firebird or Scion!

You can easily fix that problem: Mild 224 cam, new valve springs & pushrods, Long Tube headers, an intake, and a tune and you'll be over 470hp. I think the reason GM is holding back is because of the CAFE requirements.
This is a good list of upgrades. I think GM got it right.
I really like the idea of the integrated key. Hopefully those of us with 05's and 06's can upgrade.
They still really need to work on fixing the rear decklid in the verts so you don't need to stand on it to get it to fully close. I think this is the only major design flaw in the whole car and can't believe it has not been addressed.

I bought an 06 and I am VERY HAPPY they didn't do anything major, I would have been very unhappy if they went to a 6.2 liter. I agree it would be nice if the new integrated FOB/Key works on our 06's. The other thing that will be interesting are the two tone seats with the embroidery.
I'd say leave the steering wheel radio controls an options.
They sort of will be doing that...from what I understand you can bypass the steering wheel controls by getting the (lighter, faster, cheaper ) 1LT model.

I HATE steering wheel controls...I actually hate the 06 steering wheel too, love my 05, one of many reasons I went with the 05 when I did.
