REBOOTING WORKED!!! Jason from AAA disconnected the battery cable and we waited 5 minutes. Then he reconnected the cable and I jumped in and she fired right up like nothing had happened! All systems seem to be working perfectly. I'am going to go wash and wax her later this afternoon. I've had this C6 since November 1st 04 and this is the first major problem and it's my daily driver. Question now is should I take it back to the dealer tomorrow and let them check it out? My Chevy/Caddy dealer has an excellent service department. Thanks again Tin Star for the info. U da man!

I would definitely take it to the dealer. If anything, to document it for the vehicle record for any repairs that need to be effected after the warranty expires.

Did it recently rain or did you wash the vehicle? I know from past ecxperience with my c4, my cadillac, my Excursion (thankfully not my c6 ) That often times electrical problems can be as a result of water entering a wiring harness or other electrical connection that feeds data from the brain to the vehicle systems.

Good luck.

OK, is the car a "she" or an "it"?

Now you should get those simple tools you need to do it. Wrap them in some form rubber or bubble plastic and store them in your Vette, just in case.

... should always have some basic tools with you. Glad the reboot got it running again but take it in anyway.

Not to be a fool - but is there any easier way to do this than to disconnect the battery? Is there any fuse based option?

There's no "master reset" somewhere to the DIC?

Thanks for posting. Never know when something like that could happen to any one of us as well. Kudos to all the forum support you received. Glad it appeared to be nothing too serious for you other than some minor inconvenience. Hope it is nothing you will re-encounter.

would reboot it first..any trip to dealer might make it worse...look around. if you like broken body parts, scratched rims or body panels take it there often. if not do it yourself as much as possible

If he pulled the battery cable, there might not be any codes left as the memory would have been cleared also.

A wash and wax should make the problems go away. Always worked for me on my other cars.

Good luck w/ the dealer. Hope it's nothing serious.

I did notice on restart that all my personal settings (mirriors, seat, lights, ect.) were cleared. I had to go back in and reprogram everything.
