Am I missing something? Is mine not operating properly or is this a useless feature? I get no volume adjustment with increased speed at all which is what I would think the feature is all about. In fact, the only time I've ever noticed it function at all was when I had the radio on and then dropped the top with the car sitting still. The volume went up. How's it supposed to work?
It works based on interior noise, not speed. However, several here said theirs did not work at all. Mine definitely worked in the 05 coupe, but doesn't seem to work in the 06 coupe. My 06 coupe is quieter at higher speeds than the 05 was. That might have something to do with it.
I notice mine working, especially when I drove without the top and had the volume fairly loud to begin with. But it seemed like there were only 3 or 4 volume changes, so every time it got louder or quieter, it was a noticable step. Aren't there a couple settings to choose from? Maybe yours is on the lowest setting. IMO, it's pretty much useless so I turned it off.
Can't remember a post saying that the volumn control worked in their C6. There were many that could not notice any difference. Know it never worked in mine.
Yeah mine works..06 vert..when I come to a stop it turns the music down ALOT...very noticeable...I just turn it off now...it's more annoying than useful.
I have an 06 Vert with navigation. Mine does not work.
Maybe because of the navigation? My C5 had an adjustment on how much decrease or increase the volume while riding. I don't see that adjustment for the C6.
My 05 Vert's Non-Nav Boze AL is possessed by demons.
There are times it should work: Top down, lots of traffic noise or road noise.... I would expect a slight increase in volume. Then, as I stop or ambient sound levels decrease, it should gently return to the set volume.
Sounds easy.
My system has a 'feature" that simply raises the volume at odd times. Just yesterday I was cruisng down the freeway, listening to an MP3 filled CD, when I exited and came to the stoplight. The demonic AL spun its head around twice, turned green and RAISED the volume enough that I reached over and turned the vollume down a click.
BWAHAHAHAHAAAaaaaa, I love it! Yep, I'm really happy with the sound system in my car. No bottom, rattling door panels, tinny highs and muddled midrange. A perfect balance of crud. AND, the volume wanders.... yee-haw!
multiple posts on this...many if not most seem to say they hear no discernable difference...that is to say it does not work. On my '06 with nav it doesn't seem to do anything.
Someone here said that it is not really simple volume adjustment but tones being adjusted depending on interior noise.
2006 owner's manual, page 3-81.
If your vehicle has the Bose® audio system, it includes
Bose® AudioPilot® noise compensation technology.
When turned on, AudioPilot® continuously adjusts the
audio system to compensate for background noise,
so that your music always sounds the same at the set
volume level. This feature is most effective at lower radio
volume settings where background noise can affect how
well you hear the music being played through your
vehicle’s audio system. At higher volume settings, where
the music is much louder than the background noise,
there may be little or no adjustments by AudioPilot®.
I think some folks here didn't read the last sentence in the above paragraph.

I seldom turn my volume up past 4 and usually listen to it at 3. The Bose® Audio Pilot® is virtually® a non-feature® and I wish® I had a different Sound System® in my Corvette®™.
Mine seems to work w/o any problems. I only wish you could conrol by how much it increases (too much of an increase in vol), but then again, maybe the computer is suppose to figure that out for me.
