My auto-volume (audiopilot) seems to work pretty well, smooth ramp-up and ramp-down with speed/noise. Wouldn't know it was there except i don't need to adjust the volume from 0 to 80 mph.
Had volume down to a lower level on a CD, then went about 30mph on a somewhat rough road, turned off auto volume and the ability to hear the music dropped, so it is clearly doing something.
It won't be displayed as already on if you just started the car and turned the radio on. You have to press the AUTO VOL button every time you turn the radio on.
Thank you. I thought I had explained it. Mabey it's too simple to figure out. And what the h-e-double hockey sticks is the manual for? I'm going to start a thread and ask how many people actualy read the thind.
This is a BOSE issue. I had a 350Z Roadster before my corvette that had a BOSE stereo with the Audio Pilot "feature" and had the same issue. The volume does change but very slightly, in fact it is only noticible at lower volume levels. I had to adjust mine manually on both cars.
My complete un-informed theroy on why this feature does not work is that it uses a microphone to compensate for ambient noise... so at high radio volume... how does it descern road noise from the music? ...I don't think it can.
06 with Nav, doesn't seem to work for me and I've tried a number of different situations. I've never tried turning it on every time I start the car because I leave the radio on and it comes on when I start the car and the auto volume is always on also.
