The first week I thought the front wheels lifted off the ground. It was scary fast.

By the third week I was thinking about getting a Procharger. Talk about fast adaptation!

Then I came to my senses and realized that even if I got a Procharger, after a few weeks I'd feel the car was slower than I'd like it and would want to consider cams and headers and such.

It's a slippery slope once you start modding a car for speed so it's best not to even go there. If you want fast, get a Z06. If you can afford it, get an F430. Otherwise, the C6 is plenty fast enough, even though I voted "Satisfied most of the time but could use more ponies".

Alas, one cannot purchase a Z06 vert but if one could, I'd own one in a heartbeat. Better yet, the Blue Devil or whatever it'll be called. If any vendor out there is willing to take a deposit to put my name on a list for the Blue Devil/Stingray/Z07, please PM me. I wrote to Dave at Kerbeck but he was so busy taking new orders for '07s he never responded.

You can never be too fast or too slim or too rich.

I find it interesting that so far 30% of respondents want more HP including myself.

Too much HP IMO! No one will be able to use its full potential on the street. If your at a track that's a different story! It would be nice to have another 50-100hp like the old ZR1 back in the early 90's where you take the key to unleash more HP.

Congrats goes to Chevy. 228 votes and not one "dissatisfied." I'm leaving mine stock since I rarely get the opportunity to utilize everything the Z06 has.

I also voted for more horsepower. But I'm not really sure, Is it more horsepower or better gearing/clutch/shifter that I want? Even with the Z51, I don't like 1st and the start, 2nd and 3rd are great. Really dislike my wife's non Z51 MN6 but getting a new tranny for that car as we "speak".

I came out of a 368 rear wheel hp '67 mustang into the Che'Vette

My Mustang was geared With lower rear gears and was insane trying to get traction on 245 50 16 rear tires. {It was set up for road courses not drag}

Driving the 330-340 rear wheel hp with 295 width rear tires AND traction Control and less gear is far from the mustang on seat of the pants feel.

I feel that there should be a couple of engine choice's for the Che'vette.

A 350 flywheel hp motor for the GOLD CHAIN- ZAINO crowd. {Oh my GOD, Who could ever want more Hp than that on the streets}

A 450 hp for the z51 crowd that would have a set of forged rods, pistons, & crank

And of course the z06 motor

As far as hp goes you can drive plenty on the streets, I've driven a twin turbo 911 that was by far the strongest pulling car that I've ever driven. But the lack of low end torque made it a pain. It's owner drove my Che'Vette and is thinking about buying one

The power and torque of the stock motor is sufficient for me...

Nonetheless, there's no such thing as too much hp, so I'll mod just for the fun of it!

Satisfied for now, but thinking down the line it will need some more juice. For now it is too new, and I am giving it time to work out the kinks that may come up while it is still under warranty before doinf any performance mods.

If they 'need' more than that IMO they also need counseling to improve their self image and self esteem since they are trying to bolster both with an automobile. In addition IMO anyone who 'needs' more hp than 505 for the street should consider viagra or other ED medication instead of trying to be 19 again through a car.

just my opinions. If you need 850 hp on city streets, in school zones, crosswalks, strip malls etc etc then be assured that I WILL report you to the local police if I observe street racing or reckless behavior. ( and I don't care if you are driving a vette )

IMO all comments
People have been crying about this for the last 60 years & I guess it hasn't gone away. Those confounded kids & their darn hot rods! When are they gonna grow up & stop trying to make their cars faster?

It seems strange that people buy Corvettes, and then lecture conservative driving to everyone here as if we can't handle fast cars or something.
