Murphy sticks real close to me so I'll never say I've never had a problem, or place a vote towards that, but SO FAR I've never had a...... well you know!
I bought mine at 6 mos old from a dealer that someone traded in. I search showed the old guy had about 10 visits to the dealer for various issues. I have logged over 5000 miles and no issues. Maybe the car did not like the person or he was driving like Ms Daisy but I love the Vette. I only get concerned hearing all the Wooos in here that others have. Hope no one has that and the roof issue goes away.
6400 miles, and not a single issue, hope this continues. I just love the car and want to drive it every day,and I also Love to admire it just sitting in the garage . I sure hate to continue to hear about all these roof problems tho , hope that GM will finally make things right. The owners of the cars with roof problems should not have to pay another $1200+ by buying a new top to have piece of mind from maybe hurting someone with the roof flying off. Later
Cars are cars and they're all susceptible to having problems! I appears so far, the vast majority of C6 owners have not experienced any problems....including the infamous 'flying roof' problem.
FWIW, after over a year (including a full summer of blazing Arizona heat and summer humidity) my roof finally started making some minor stress noises....it never showed signs of separation. I replaced the roof several months ago and it has been fine so far. In my opinion, the C6 is an excellent car (as verified recently in Forbes magazine which called the Corvette and the Cadillac examples of America's finest built cars).
My service active handling light comes on now and again. So I did a search on this forum and found that it has something to do with the telescoping steering wheel tugging on the wireing harness. There is a TSB on it. After reading that, I started to to move the steering wheel in and out and sure enough it made the light come on.
My A/C smells real bad for a minute or two when it is turned on. Also my clear top makes popping noises over each bump and the driver's seat shifts forward and back a little as I accelerate and brake.
There is a few other minor things to tell the dealer. I am going to make an appointment to get everything fixed at the same time.
I still love this car and would recommend it to anyone.
