Priority Start!monitors battery voltage and automatically disconnects any undesired drain on your battery as the voltage reduces, when the engine is not running. It essentially is a battery disconnect switch.
Just step on the brake pedal or operate the headlight switch and it automatically reconnects. Nothing to remember, nothing to do - fully automatic engine starting protection for your car or boat! When it comes to your battery - starting is the priority!
Use of battery starters, questionable cigarette lighter devices or dangerous jumper cables means you already have a damaged or dying battery on your auto or marine vehicle.
Priority Start! maximizes battery life preventing electrical damage. Saves money, time, and exposure to dangerous situations. Can also be utilized on vehicle's with an electrical short.
Been using it since February, it has engaged a couple of times (once my fault), and hit the lighter and off we went.... highly reccomend
Can you tell me where I can purchase? How is it installed?
Sorry for all the ?s but DBS got me last night. Need help, dealer said all is fine I must have left the car in reverse. NOT
Thanks
www.prioritystart.com...............easy install (10 minutes or so), you strap it to the battery and put the positive directly to the priority start module and put the modules positive to the battery, reconnect the negative and your all set............ good luck its a worthwhile investment.....

Thanks for all your great info. I just ordered one from battery mart. I hope they are all the same.
Well, DBS got me too. I noticed the abundance of PriorityStart recommendations on the forum, so I purchased one, and installed it.
Prior to installing it, the battery was at 12.48 volt. Once the unit was installed, as suggested in the PS's owners manual, I did a test - turned the headlights on, and waited, and waited. In the mean time, I kept checking on the battery voltage. PriorityStart kicked in at 11.72 volts and shut off everything.
I was happy to see it shut off - the unit works!
The next thing I know, I'm stuck trying to get PriorityStart to wake up, and give the juice back to my baby!!! PriorityHog! Will someone who has this installed on their 2005 C6 Manual please advise how you get the PriorityStart to turn back on? I tried what the PriorityStart manual suggests (pressing break pedal or turning the headlights on), but none of that worked. I tried pressing buttons on remote, or opening the doors, or starting the car – the car gets no power, yet the battery measures 12.35 volts.

DSOM Z51: What if I don't have one? Car didn't come with one, and I don't smoke - It would be ironic if I had to start carrying a cigarette lighter in order to get turn on my PriorityStart
I will if that's the only way, but am wondering if there's anything else I could do.

Try a radar detector or cell phone adapter with your cell phone hooked up to it.
Do you have another car? See if the cig lighter from it will fit the Vette.
I have 2 other cars, none of which have a cigarette lighter.
Tried 2 different cell phones with 2 different chargers - Also tried two other devices that use power from a 12v outlet (an emergency light, and a tire inflator). Nothing seems to be able to awaken the beast.

Take the Priority Start off the car for now and hook up straight to the battery.
Don't hook the Priority Start back up until you get a cigarette lighter. Most if not all of the people on this board with the Priority Stat re activate their cars by pushing in the cigarette lighter.
Just in case anybody arrives at the same point as I did, another way is to use a jumper cable from the Plus (+) cable connector of the car to the Plus (+) borne of the battery, thus bypassing the PriorityStart.
This is a much more inconvenient way of doing it than a cigarette lighter, so I must find one and start using it
Thanks for the help, and hopefully this post proves itself useful to others as well.

With the potential explosion hazards of some of these batteries, I don't know if I would advocate that.
DSOM Z51: Where did you get your cigarette lighter? Did your corvette come with one?
I thought an ashtray and cigarette lighter was standard on all C6 vettes. I don't remember seeing a "smoker's group" option to order or delete.
Anyway, I installed PriorityStart on my '05 MN6 after my first DBS experience last November. PS saved me from a complete battery drain twice since then; use the key on the hatch, pull the door cable, press in the cigarette lighter, wait a minute, hit the start button.
You can also disconnect the little ground wire from PS to the battery clip to bypass PS completely. This should let you start your C6 normally. Good luck.
