Now at Southern Car Parts....

Do you hate the 1-4 skip shift installed on the C6 Manual Transmission? This little device will elimate that annoying issue.

This kit will allow you to disable the Computer Aided Gear Selection (CAGS) feature of your C5 Corvette's 6-speed gearbox. This kit uses genuine Delphi Packard Electric Systems division connectors, plugs and seals to protect your wiring harness and CAGS solenoid to allow you to re-connect the harness for full CAGS function, if you so desire. This kit is designed for use on both the standard MN6 Corvette's 6-speed gearbox and also the M12 Z06 Corvette's 6-speed gearbox. No permanent modifications are required to install this product.

Takes 5 mins to install and is easily reversable.

Each Kit comes with complete installtion instructions.

NOTE: This kit will prevent the CAGS solenoid from engaging but the "1 to 4" light on the dash will still illuminate when skip shift conditions are met.

I purchased a fuse replacement off Ebay that said it would do the same thing, all you would have to do is place this particular fuse in the #10 position to make the bypass

CAGS used to annoy the crap out of me in heavy traffic. I swapped the fuse and have never thought about it since. Cheap and easy mod ($15) that even your grandmother could do.

Its not a bypass,

in either case, being resistor at the fuse block, or down line at the trans plug, you are putting a resistor in line (both are the same line and on the C6, only the cags system is on fuse 10 up line of the trans plug, which allows you to put the resistor there instead).

What this does is allow enough current through the line so the system can see/check the Cags solenoid so it does not throw a code, but not enough current to get to the solenoid to actually allow it to function.

Is it necessary to unplug the battery before installing this?

No, just have the ignition in the Off position when you change the fuse out to a resistor/blow smart glow fuse.

If you do it with the car running, the ignition on, the system will see the fuse being pulled (lose of continuity to the cags solenoid on the check) , and throw a code until you shut the car off and restart it again with the new resistor in line.

No it will throw an engine code and not run right, but if you buy a fuse with the LED to show when it it blown, and cut the fuse, the LED will pass enough current to keep computer from knowing it is a bad fuse but will not activate the relay that forces the shifter to 4th. The light on the dash will still show that skip shift has activated but you will still be able to shift to 2nd.
