Got a knock on the door last night at around 7:15 and it was a neighbor who said he had a strange request from me. He wanted to know if I would let him sit in the Corvette and take some pictures because he will be turning 50 in a few weeks and wanted to send invitations with him in the Vette. I told him that was no problem and I drove it out of the garage and let him sit in it while his wife took some pictures. He was very appreciative.
I could understand that. There are plenty of people in the world who may never have the oppotunity to have a corvette, but love them as much as we do. I think you did the right thing!!!!
Not strange at all. Folks of all generations gravitate to these cars. It's been going on for over 50 years.
to you for taking the time to share our love for these cars. I'd go one better, offer him a ride.
Cheers
Tom
Actually this guy's son is the one that drools over the car and tells me that's his favorite car every time I see him. He's ten and his mom and I discussed the fact that he loves my car and I told her that I would give him a ride whenever they (his parents) decided it was okay. I haven't had a request for that yet but I'm sure I will and I will be more than happy to oblige.
Hey, I had a stranger request. Some of the ladies in the office wanted me to take another one's toy dog for a ride so they could take pictures. Something to do with the adventures the toy dog had while she was out of the office - I didn't ask for details.
Yeah the first week I had mine, everybody in about a two block area around the house just happened to walk by...........for some reason! One of my other "neighbors" who lives about 5 blocks away told me that seeing mine caused him to go buy one! Funny!

Not strange.....just another reminder of how lucky those of us that are fortunate enough to own one truly are!! Good for you
no worries.. she comes over all the time... in her bikini with a little T on, asking for a cup of this a handfull of that and for help with her zuccineses... So, like the good neighbor, I give her all I have..and promise her even more.
My wife and I went out for an ice cream the other night and I parked in the safest place I could find out by the dumpster. While we are eating our ice creams we notice one of the employees, a boy about 16 had taken out the trash and was really checking the car out. He was even looking at it all the way back to the building, stopping occasionally to just stare. The next thing I know my wife says "check this out". Here is the same kid out there with his camera phone getting ready to take a picture. So I walk over and say " That picture won't be as good as it could be" He looks at me funny and I tell him it would be a lot better if he was behind the wheel. You should have seen the look on his face. I said get in and I'll take your picture. He couldn't believe it and had the biggest on his smile on his face. After snapping a few shots he got out and couldn't thank me enough. He said he loves vettes and wants to own one some day. My wife told him to just keep working hard and some day he will have one too. As we drove off we saw him inside showing all the girls the pictures. He gave us a big wave and yelled out "Thanks so much". I'm not sure who had more fun, we laughed about it all the way home. What a great feeling
