Can somebody tell why we don't have an auto up feature?
Auto down is there, why not auto up?
My Honda has only auto down too... I have never understood why manufacturers don't alway put auto up.... there must be some kind of explanation, besides saving a few $

Too many lawyers. They have advised the auto manufacturers of the liability factor with auto up windows and hands/limbs getting caught in the windows.

that 3 seconds of switch holding is a killer isn't it?
Since most people on this forum have been around this planet much longer than myself, how did you all manage to manually roll up/down windows with that ridiculous crank thing?

I can remember trying to make it look like I had power windows by cranking 'stealthily'. Of course, try doing it with a broken wrist.
I can see why it could be a safety issue, but why can't they install a system that stops the window from rolling up if it senses some obstruction (like an elevator door, that will re open if there is something on it's way when closing).
Plus I'm still pretty close to the window when I press the button, so I could see if something got there, it's not like a remotely close the window (BTW is that an issue for the Window Valet?)
My friend's Totyota Avensis has auto up and down and I believe I see more cars that have it than cars that don't.
From: Heaven, for the climate; Hell, for the company
Open the window. Close the window. Stir the latte. Scroll through the iPod. Tune the radio. Shift. Shave or apply lipstick (or maybe both?) It's getting harder and harder to drive a car these days. Maybe somebody here can modify one of those helmet/eye-piece things the Apache gunners wear, so all we have to do is look at something and it does whatever it does. I guess the only thing you'd have to be real careful about is focusing on multi-function stuff, like your crotch. (You might want it to pull up your zipper, and you end up having an orgasm in the Dunkin Donuts drivethru.).

I don't believe it's a safety issue! My Audi, Infiniti and Toyota all have the feature. If it is was a safety issue why do Caddy's and other GM cars have it? Do they think vette owners are to stupid to use it properly? Don't answer that question! Perhaps it had something to do with the window index feature on our vettes? More then likely it was just that GM was CHEAP!!!!! I understand that will be another upgrade feature on the 08 ZO6 which will raise the price another 4 grand....
