Default 12.69@112 bone stock = True Believer

This post is for all those who don't believe these cars will run hard.
Earlier this July I made one pass at New England Dragway, a disappointing 13.41@107. My car is a 06 A6 1LT, the only option being the Comp Grey's. It was hot and muggy and the car was at full operating temp.

Tonight, I let the car cool down for an hour+, outside temp was mid 50's. Spun the tires just enough to clean em off, left at idle with no footbraking, car dead hooked all thru 1st, trans left to shift itself in 'S' mode and TC/AH off.

Nothing has been done to this car except an oil change, a Z06 spoiler and color matched door handles.

I agree, very quick and damn impressive but a bone stock GT500 convertible has already run as quick as 12.56@116.09 at a race weight of 4000+ pounds. With ET streets, 12.1@117. I think he's a powerlease guy so didn't have to pay the ridiculous mark-up.

Good time there too!!He must be a good driver to do that kind of time with all that weight. At 3300LBS with 400 HP= 8.2LBS per HP.4200 LBS with 500 HP=8.4LBS per HP.Damn close.

Nice run. Sounds great to me as I have the same A6. Oh, please do not answer the suspension question or this thread will turn to crap.

It was the color matched handles that reduced drag to get those numbers!!!

Congrats on the great numbers!!
How many miles on your car? I noticed the other day when pulling away from a light that my car "felt" stronger in the cooler weather we had.

I'm estimating weight for both with drivers in the car.I could be off a hundred or two here and there, but the gist of it is right on.

Default Huh?

"all thru 1st, trans left to shift itself in 'S' mode and TC/AH off. "
Please translate, I'm confused.

You left car is "S" mode and it shifts by itself??

Is my reading comprehension that bad?? I thought the reason for "S" is that we do the shifting.

I'm SOooo Confused

A 500 HP car should be doing better than mid 12's though, even with street tires. It should run the 12.1 without drag radials. I've always been a Mustang fan but I've been annoyed with SVT making their cars so damn heavy. All of this iron block hooha is just a cost-cutting measure to increase profit margins. Plenty of FI cars out there running aluminum blocks without any problems. I believe the Ford GT is one them, isn't it?

12.69 is a very good time. Did you post it in the drag racing thread on the Tech section?

It shifts itself in S mode unless you hit the paddles. Then you shift by paddle.
