Default Valet???

Do you guys Valet your C6's?? I would valet my C5 all the time, but when my 07' comes in I was wondering about valeting because of the keyless entry and all. Your thoughts are appreciated.

Never! Does the movie "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" ring any bells?

Before I modded my car, I let the dealership do the first oil service. The guy the drove the car up to the customer pickup area couldn't even figure out how to open the door. That's the guy I want driving my car.

No way. Not too paranoid about joy rides, just don't want my car parked by a pimply faced teen smokin' doobies in the car! At a minimum, they'll leave my 05 in neutral, ignore all the warnings, and I'll have to get in through the trunk to start the car. Just say no, and if the place requires valet parking, move on and tell them you'll come back when they stop insisting on manhandling your property.

Nope. Had a bad valet experience many years ago. I know not all valets are idiots, but one burned, twice cautious. I won't even let them park my daily driver.

Yep. If it's a fairly high class restaurant in the city I do it all the time. Throw em the fob/keys and forget about it....check the car when I get ready to leave. Never had a problem with anybody not knowing how to start it (or damaging it). I've never had any problems and have done it with a Porsche and BMW M3 that I have had. Now, in the burbs where there is usually a large self-parking area available in addition to valet parking, I do it myself. In the city, I'm not going to waste 20 or 30 minutes trying to find a place to self-park.

a good friend of mine was a valet about 15 years ago... and he told me all kinds of stories of how they'd park those cars.. how much rubber could they burn... speeds 0-whatever in the parking lot... especilly if it was a porsche or vette.. no way would i ever let (just a car) be valet'd

We do it regularly at our favorite restaurants and I always slip the guy a little "spiff" to put it right in front of the place . . .

The only way I would let a valet park my car is if he detailed the car for me while I was eating as well as I would detail it myself at home. Otherwise, no freakin' way!

Sometimes, under certain circumstances, I do.
