After sitting for 7 day my C6 6speed was dead as a door nail. Third time since I have owned it. Charged the Battery and took it in to local dealer. They checked the obvious and reprogramed the computer per the TSB.
Why? Did you need a new battery? I hope it was free under warranty. Did they not know about the new flash?
I've had 2 dbs's in 18mo. Battery wouldn't hold a charge at all.I brought flash number and they could have cared less.Battery was free under warr.Maybe it was just a "bad battery" but I would have been happier if they did the flash since they had the car.

The good news is you have a free new battery and if it happen's again you will get the flash.
I don't understand why they don't just reprogram the flash regardless of any other issues. Are they afraid that it might break something? Doesn't make too much sense to me.
I had my 05 MN6 BCM reflashed last week based on the PIC for draining batteries. After 3 DBS incidents, the dealership also changed the battery since the overall battery condition was not up to specs. Even with the reflash, I am keeping the car on a battery tender if not used for a few days.

Although my 2005 has never failed to start (even after having it parked for up to a couple weeks) and I wouldn't let anyone reflash the PCM after the edit tune for the LPE 403 motor....I'm curious about the DBS computer 'cure.' Does anyone know what is specifically changed with the reflash?

All I know is what I read here, and apparently the reflash causes the BCM to ignore certain shut down anomalies and let the darn thing go to sleep anyway. The flash is not recommended unless you've had DBS.
Your tune is in the ECU, the reflash concerns the BCM.
I learned the hard way that if the dealer is clueless, go to another dealer that is not. All they need to do is look up PIC 4188 or PIC 4188A and, if they can read English, the answer is within.
I recently switched dealers and my service experience went from horrible to excellent. Do not put up with it.

I GAVE him the 4188 sheet!!!
Still no joy.
I'll hit him up again next month, when I bring it in for the 'rocking seat'...
I have seen nothing that says the reflash works. Just another "fix" that doesn't work.
My dealer says my roof is OK on both 2006s because they are not on the list of problem VINs. One was build in Aug 2005 and the other in Dec 2005........ If they can't get a simple thing like this straight, why do you think they can fix an electrical system issue.

Today makes 3 times......maybe wed. they will do flash....or maybe they will blow smoke up my azz again....we'll see...
